Jui Tan, Managing Partner of Lanchi Ventures, joined the AI Investors’ Forum panel “Beyond Frontier Models: China’s Path to Scale and Real-World Value” at the 13th Milken Institute Asia Summit in Singapore. The discussion examined how AI can contribute to productivity growth, industrial transformation, and practical value.

Jui discussed the potential for robotics to help address structural labor shortages in China. He also noted that infrastructure and energy demands remain important challenges as the technology moves toward wider deployment. The long-term value of AI, he said, will depend on its ability to solve problems in real operating environments.

China’s engineering talent, manufacturing capabilities, supply chains, and range of application scenarios provide a strong foundation for developing and deploying AI. Jui also observed that, beyond the broader discussion of US–China competition, researchers and companies continue to collaborate, exchange ideas, and learn from one another in their day-to-day work.

Lanchi Ventures focuses on AI infrastructure and applications, embodied AI, and deep tech. We back Chinese technology entrepreneurs from the earliest stages and support them as they bring new technologies into practical use. Across investments including Moonshot AI, Genspark, Galbot, AGIBOT, Gausium Robot, PPIO, Li Auto, and TCab, we look for teams building capabilities that can create lasting economic and social value.
